For the time conscious women who want more than just a simple alarm clock right beside the bed, the Oregon Scientific BAR688HGA Wireless Weather Station with Temperature/Humidity Display and Self- Setting Atomic Clock, White/Silver offers atomic time display and so much more. As you wake up, instead of turning on the TV and watch the news for weather reports you can use gadgets like the Oregon Scientific BAR688HGA Wireless Weather Station to give you the easiest access to real time weather forecast.
The Oregon Scientific BAR688HGA Wireless Weather Station does not only update you with the weather. It also keeps track of Temperature, Humidity, and Time. The display is large enough for most users and all information you will need are displayed in its monochrome monitor. It also sports an atomic clock, which automatically sets itself for the US standard time. Alarm and Snooze controls are also available for added convenience. During the night, you can use the HiGlo electro-luminescent backlight to give you a clear view of the readings. Apart from that, this gadget has an automatic alarm that triggers during High or Temperature and Humidity.
Stay informed and keep safe by knowing the weather in advance for those beach outings, camping trips and days in the garden, with Oregon Scientific's wireless weather station. Weather icons depicting rain, snow, sun, and clouds display 12- and 24-hour weather forecasts. The integrated clock automatically sets itself to the U.S. Atomic Clock and never needs adjusting for Daylight Saving Time. Bold digits on the unit's LCD screen display indoor and outdoor temperatures and humidity. The barometer shows pressure as rising, steady or falling to indicate where the weather is heading. A moon-phase indicator makes for safer days at the beach or on the open water. And, a crescendo alarm with snooze function eases sleepers into the day. Plus, the unit's thermometer and humidity gauges team up to feed data to the Heat Index mechanism for monitoring comfort levels-a great feature when heat stroke is a fear. High- and low-temperature and humidity alarms warn when conditions aren't right in the baby's room, greenhouse, wine cellar or music room. No more frozen pipes during that cold snap, this stylish weather station is equipped with an ice-alert feature that warns when temperatures have dropped low enough to freeze things up. The included wireless, remote sensor also has an LCD screen that displays humidity and temperature. The main console can receive signals from up to 3 sensors (additional sensors sold separately). The temperature range capacity of the sensor that comes with this station is -22F to 140 degrees F. The setup was very easy, particularly for the time zone. All of the other instructions were straight-forward as well. The instruction booklet is in a handy size for storage; however, if one has "over 50" eyes, you'll need your reading glasses due to the small print. Have had NO problems with the atomic clock receiving signals either. For me, the main unit's display is informational and NOT busy or cluttered. After reading the instructions, I've mounted the outdoor temp probe on the north side of my home. WOW .. weather forecasts and temps are amazingly accurate !!! Ditto for indoor temperature and humidity levels. I own two other atomic clocks with just the temperature feature and this Oregon Scientific matches them. The barometic pressures are in sync with what the local weather people display on the TV. I've found it to be a variance of approximately "point 1 or .10) which is, IMHO, reasonable considering we're not talking about sophisticated weather channel equipment. - Each time you replace the batteries, whether on the main unit or on a remote sensor, you need to reset the main unit for it to pick up the signal from the remote. Resetting the main unit also resets the time, combined with the issue above this means that every time you change the batteries the clock on the main unit needs to be reset as well. A royal pain. This is a pretty nice indoor-outdoor thermometer with a lot of additional useful information, such as humidity inside and out and barometric pressure. Setup was easy, and the main unit has no problem connecting with the remote, even through the wall of the house. The "atomic clock" updates during the night, although it has difficulty connecting to the radio signal during the day (normal, according to Oregon Scientific). 1. The remote and the main unit don't agree on the temperature, even after sitting side-by-side on my desk for several hours. They were about a degree different. I called Oregon Scientific and was told that's normal, that their units are calibrated to within plus or minus 5 degrees (!), that they are not scientifically accurate. Oh. I guess I was confused by the company's name. Excuse my stupidity.
