Will the xbox wireless adapter work with an xbox 360?
Oct 15, 2008 by Adam J | Posted in Xbox
I put the wireless adapter Xbox 360 on my list of birthday and my grandmother got for me, the only problem is that it has received the Xbox wireless adapter. Not the Xbox 360. Is regular work with the adapter Xbox 360?
Yep, dude. It works very well indeed. I ended up buying the original Xbox adapter, because it's only $ 50.00.
Edit: Oh, and you do not need to use the installation disk for use on a 360.

Will the old xbox wireless adapter work with the xbox 360? If so how do you set it up?
Nov 01, 2007 by mjohnson1292 | Posted in Xbox
I just got an xbox 360 and i dont want to spend $100 dollars on the 360 wireless adapter. I often take my xbox 360 over to my friends houses and they have wireless internet. Is it easy to change wireless connections? if you could answer this soon it would be greatly apprieciated.
The original Xbox wireless adapter will work with the Xbox 360.. it connects to the Xbox 360s ethernet connection..
<update>
I was searching around for more information and I found this: (from link below)
the original xbox wireless adapter DOES work on the 360 because that's what I use because I was too cheap to buy the new small white one. BTW you don't need to install the drivers like you did on the original xbox. It's pretty much plug and play.
<update 2>
check out the second link for Microsoft instructions to update the MN-740 (original Xbox wireless adapter) firmware to work better with the Xbox 360..

Rumor: Xbox 360 Slim Arcade details outed by Amazon Germany
13.07.10
Microsoft has said that an Arcade version of the Xbox 360 "S" (aka Slim) was coming but hasn't provided any hints on what it would or wouldn't have and hasn't given a general release date beyond later this year. Now a listing at Amazon's German website may have let some of those details slip.
Previously, Arcade models have not come with much in the way of storage. Either memory cards or internal memory up to 512 MB has been the best the hard drive-less Xbox 360 could offer. The new Xbox 360 Arcade will come with 4GB of memory according to the Amazon listing. This could be internal flash memory but the listing says "Bundle" which indicates it might be a USB thumbdrive. You won't be installing disk-based games to the hard drive with this but it will give you plenty of room for game saves and a few Arcade games.
The other two details leaked on the Amazon website are the release date and the price. The Slim Arcade is due out on August 20, 2010 in Germany. Gamescom, the European equivalent of E3, is scheduled from August 18-22, coincidentally. We'll have to wait and see on when this version of the Xbox 360 will be avalable in the United States but it should generally be around the same time.

First off, I got the original adapter for my 360 when I first got it. It was a complete wast of money. The adapter I think was complete garbage. It did not work very well at all, weak signal and every thing. Now this new adapter is coming out and it. Looks like it has 2 antennas to make up for the weak connection of there old one. I think that this item should be boycotted. The main reason is because of the price tag for it. $100 dollars? come on , were do they get off. Most adapters cost much less for your laptop or PC . People who buy this product should know that they are getting rip off.
“Been wireless gaming since this gen as Robo_1. Wireless gaming is perfectly fine. It usually depends on your ISP and wireless network (hardware) that dictates whether you have problems or not. Either way, my PS3 and PC’s offer me lag free online gaming and decent download speeds.”
Wireless gaming is fine until you play a competitive game (such as modern warfare). I don’t know how many friends I have recommended wiring up their xbox and hearing them say how much less “wtf”s they are having. It makes a huge difference for fast paced games.
“Getting rid of the missus nagging (caused by 10m of ethernet cable going through the living room) – priceless…”
Staples to create a tidy line of cable around the wall = $5.
This just goes to show how utterly fucking lazy humanity in general is, that they’re rather spend $100 an adaptor than a few dollars on wires and staples to set up a decent wired connection.
