CEL Starts Shipping of Two New RF Antenna Switches
03.08.10
California Eastern Laboratories or CEL announced that it is shipping two new RF antenna switches, the uPG2413T6M and the uPG2413T6Z.
According to company sources the single pole triple throw or SP3T switches, designed by Renesas Electronics Corporation, features low insertion loss and small form factor.
Both the uPG2413T6M and uPG2413T6Z are based on the same chip die but come with different packages in order to serve different purposes. The T6M is footprint compatible to a prior generation’s switch and hence allows smooth product transitions for products based on the older design. The T6Z is smaller; measuring 1.5 mm x 1.5 mm and is suitable fro tiny embedded wireless designs. The devices have a low height of only 0.4 mm.
The new 2413 switches can support Wi-Fi and Bluetooth devices, even when present in the same module as they feature a triple-throw design and low insertion loss. Also such combo products are very popular as most products incorporate Wi-Fi and Bluetooth together as in laptops, netbooks, printers, smartphones, and other handheld wireless devices. The RF switches are also applicable in ZigBee/802.15.4 products, said company sources.
