Help installing Belkin bluetooth dongle on Vista computer with lost disc?
Aug 13, 2009 by Sian | Posted in Add-ons
I have the Belkin bluetooth adaptor version F8T013, which I bought a couple of years ago for an old XP computer. I have since lost the disc that came with it and acquired a Vista computer. I have been on the Belkin website, as when I tried to install the device without the disc, it didn't work, but I don't really know what I am looking for. How can I install the soft wear without the disc? Thanks.
well, the disc usually contains the drives for the certain hardware to work with your computer. so, you find the drivers for your "belkin bluetooth adaptor version F8T013"(on the internet, google it) then you download and install them. if you can't install them, plug your device in your computer and then it asks if you would like to browse for the driver file. click that option, find the drives downloaded on the computer at it should all work out.

The Windows 7 taskbar is a great example of Vista’s beautiful user interface reworked in a way that makes using a computer more enjoyable. Both sport the “aero” theme, with all its graphical effects, but 7 takes the functionality in a whole new direction. Program titles and quick launch shortcuts have been removed from the taskbar. What’s left are a bunch of icons you can arrange. Frequently used programs can be pinned to the taskbar, which replaces the quick launch functionality of earlier Windows releases. Jump lists, activated by dragging taskbar icons upward, reveal lists of commonly used functionality within the respective programs.
As another example, suppose you have just arrived on campus and want to establish a wireless Internet connection. Simply click the network icon in the taskbar and choose your network from the list. Vista buried this list of available connections in its own window, needlessly far from the user.
Similar improvements are found throughout Windows 7. Together they make using a Windows computer the most unobtrusive and enjoyable experience so far.

That's it! You can do it inside notepad. There is a special note for Windows Vista. You can't modify the file from where it is, so the solution was to copy it (and all other files inside its folder) to another directory, then modify it there and when Windows asks for a manual driver, point it to that folder. Unfortunately I think I can't upload the modified file here due to copyright restrictions.
